Four Weeks Into This Retest

Bitcoin is now four consecutive weeks into building a base of support at the 200-week SMA, currently sitting at $64,216 (orange, 200-week SMA).

Price has posted a Weekly Close above this average for four straight weeks, and the SMA itself is confluent with an older support level that had earlier flipped into resistance before holding as demand again this year.

That confluence strengthens the case for a base forming here, though the picture underneath is more nuanced.

Even as this support holds, Bitcoin risks carving out a Lower High.

The current Macro Downtrend, dating back to October 2025, has already produced three clear instances of this pattern.

A fourth would confirm the sequence remains intact.

If the second half of the month turns more constructive, that next Lower High could land somewhat above the current cluster top, though it would still represent a Lower High within the broader structure:

It's not as important where the Lower High would exactly form, at which price point - what's more crucial is that one develops in a prolonged series of Lower Highs since October 2025.

Until that fourth Macro Lower High is confirmed, the more immediate concern is the week-to-week horizontal (blue) sitting just above current price:

Bitcoin would need to breach this blue level if it wants to fully flesh out the upcoming fourth Macro Lower High.

To do that, Bitcoin would need to continue holding the 200-week SMA (orange):

At the moment, there isn't much buy-side volume coming in to breach this blue resistance - perhaps that will still change over the course of the week. Thus far, the buy-side volume has been small and declining week to week so the volume is worth observing this week:

Bitcoin would need to see a breakout on buy-side volume (breaching the red diagonal on volume) for price to at least try and position itself above the blue horizontal for a reclaim attempt.

Thus, what's missing is follow-through for the moment.

Buy-side volume has been thin, raising the question of what is actually sustaining this price action without it.

Will buy-side volume arrive in time to breach this blue resistance or will be Bitcoin's base at the SMA hold without the fuel to push further?
